Contact Lenses

The only reason why I'm posting is just to record what happened today in the library.

Prior to the event, Melody, who's wearing hard contact lenses, had the right lens go below the pupil, in the centre, and had to use this little mirror-cum-sharpener to check it properly. I used to have one of those things, a little round, cylindrical sharpener, with a mirror covering one circular face.

Anyway, Jessica made this really FUNNY face, and Mel was laughing, and I don't know why she rolled her eyes. At that point, the left lens went down just as the right one had before. So Mel was tearing and laughing at the SAME TIME, because she found it absurd that she could displace the lens simply by rolling her eyes.

I was sitting facing her, and two tables behind me were some of her council friends. And when they saw her tearing and laughing, they started laughing at her. I just got annoyed because I used to wear hard lenses for 4 years, and I know that when it gets displaced from the pupil it really hurts. You can't even open your eyes without tearing. And it stings.

So I turned around and said, "Are you laughing at her pain?" In a very annoyed tone, I think? Sarah found it funny, hmph. Then two of those council guys came over, and started nudging her shoulder, telling her to go to the toilet. One of them even joked, "Come on, I'll push it up for you", with the jabbing finger motion to boot.

I was actually thinking, "Why are you so stupid? She's already looking at the mirror, as if going to the toilet will solve anything." Only afterwards I found it funny because I realised that they didn't see that it was a mirror. So they were wondering why on earth. when her lens was hurting was she staring at a sharpener!

Later on she said they were a bit scared by my 'scolding', which might account for their assiduous attempts at help. I don't believe it, but she couldn't stop laughing, seriously.

I like our restructured timetable Tuesdays, because we begin they day with our Lit consultation, and have 3 free periods! Cue the laughter and silliness among us BCML girls!

Prelims are Done With

[This is the post that I tried to post yesterday but the page hanged or something, so I'm reposting it now.]

Papa doesn't want me to waste time blogging, but my exams are over for now, so I think a little allowance is fine!

Today was the last paper, Bio MCQ, and Ms Feng said she guessed it was the last paper for most people, so we should be smiling! =)

Before the paper Kai Xin was trying to find someone to go to Square 2 with her because they're having some Korean cultural thing going on. Since Mummy said I could go out with my friends today, I said I'd go.

Xiao Wen had agreed to go if I was, then Clarissa also went, and Liu Xuan had to go to Tan Tock Seng Hospital to get an influenza vaccination, and Elizabeth was meeting a friend at Plaza Sing.

We all took 171 to Newton, where we avidly discussed the Bio MCQ questions and Super Junior. Hm. It appears XW has been watching more videos.

So we went to Square 2 and I never knew they had all these Korean shops and stuff, including ddeokbokki and a Korean grocery store and stuff. Apparently it's this Korean mid-autumn festival so they're selling mooncakes and showcasing the hambok...

KX accompanied LX to the hospital and I went with XW and Clar around the place. There was a lady with a cute little girl in a stroller, who had a HUGE purple bruise that was swollen on her left arm.

Anyway, after going to the face shop when KX came back, XW and Clar went home for lunch and KX and I went to VeloCity to eat at the Kopitiam, but it was utterly packed, so we walked around looking at stuff until 1pm or so when there was space for us! We both ate teriyaki chicken bento, yum.

We also went to Plaza Sing later to look at some other stuff, and she showed me this shop called Daiso that sells every item for $2, lots of Japanese things too. They even had shiny glittery hiragana stickers in order for easy learning!

We went to Comics Connection for a while, and they have all kinds of manga, and celebrity stuff, truly an eye opener for me. They had DBSK and SuJu stuff, even SJ-M, and eurgh, Fei Lun Hai. IMO, fei lun hai cannot truly sing. At least they can't truly sing live, their recommendation is their looks.

There were a lot of Changmin stickers, I don't know why; either he's less popular than the rest and his stickers haven't been sold yet, or the shop owner loves him and purposely buys more of him.

Anyway, many thanks to KX for going out with me for so long, even though she thanked ME for going out with her, haha!

Bye Bye Sister

Tonight my sister and her husband are going to New Zealand in order to migrate there. I'm sure there's a whole host of reasons why they want to leave, be it the weather, the population density, the pace of life or the ERP.

Naturally no one wants them to leave, but I suppose even we aren't enough reason for them to stay. Hmph.

They took us out for lunch on Friday after the Teachers' Day Celebrations in our respective schools, since they had a voucher for Sushi Tei to be used up. Apparently they've been on the receiving end of countless buffets, all with sashimi. I swear, it can't be fair at all .

And last night we had a scrumptious overloaded dinner at Westlake, complete with kung ba bao, pohpia, beef, fried chicken, sea cucumber, two types of tofu, and nai bai. It's a wonder we were able to stand up after being so stuffed!

Yesterday after service Yan and I went to the parsonage to teach Papa's upper Primary Sunday school class. There were only three of the boys, plus two of the lower Primary girls whose teacher wasn't there.

Hence we took them all for the lesson, which was quite nice, except for some purposefully ridiculous answers, and the fact that most of them take forever to flip to the correct page in their Bibles. E.g. They were supposed to turn to Ephesians, and Jared slowly turns, saying to himself, "...Jeremiah...page 1407..."

I hope Aunty Jee Nee liked the Teachers' Day card we gave her. It's a pity that not everyone was there to write a message on it, so in the end it had messages from me, Ying Xuan, Daryl, Aveil, Nicole, Michelle Foo, Yihui, Nicolette and Michelle Ng. Oh well. My incomplete class has the number of messages from my sisters' classes combined.

I'm sure Mrs J from school enjoyed her bouquet that our GP class got for her as well on Friday. And about 21/23 of the class signed the card. Jolly successful. And I hope Ms Feng liked the cup. Reminds me of photosynthesis.

Anyway, we've got to go to the airport in an hour or so, I think. I can't believe that I wasn't aware of the existence of Terminal 3.

Joke from Rev Leow: [Based on childrens' intepretations of the Bible]
Lot's wife was a pillar of salt by day and a ball of fire by night. LOL!!!
